A bit about ME...

Fast forward 5 years.... I'm 30, boyfriend is now husband, have almost mastered the Italian meringue macaron (it was a stop.start mission, have much better eyebrows now and to top it off, I am now a mamađź’™.

Being on maternity leave, I've been trying to think of something to put my mind to in those few hours a day where I get some peace and quiet... then I remembered this blog.

I can't actually remember why I stopped blogging, I'm guessing work got really busy and other things just naturally took up my time. But I'm back, and now that little one is in tow, the visits to the restaurants have become a lot less frequent.
So, I want to pick up baking again. It's something I've always enjoyed doing and so I've set myself the challenge to learn more about it and try different things.

I've started another blog (I feel I need to start this blog from scratch): Batter Up. This will follow my baking adventures and as I make my way through motherhood, I'm sure also some recipes that have helped me along my way.

Hi, I'm Ashley! A 25 year old female from Sydney.

I've recently finished a 2 year stint of living the travellers life based out of London and this is where I found my passion for food. Moving back to Sydney recently, I'm starting to realise how many great places we have to eat, right here on our doorstep.

Seeing as visiting all these places gives no help to my waistline, I'm thinking I should make some good of it by bringing the down low of all these places to you!!

My usual dining companion's are Boyfriend and a couple of Breaky Buddies who share my passion for Brunch.

I'm a firm believer that brunch is the most important meal of the day. Coming in at second most important is easily dessert.

After my time in London, I've also fallen in love with afternoon and high tea.

Boyfriend and I love a good bargain, so I am a massive fan of the entertainment books that are sold for charity and of course Groupon. I usually buy my entertainment book each year from The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children.

When I'm not working or eating out somewhere, I'm trying my hand at cooking and baking. I also have a crazy obsession with recipe books.

I'm currently in the process of trying to master the art of the dreaded macaron. Watch this space.

That's it from me... hopefully you find some use out of this blog.

Happy Reading!

Ashley xx
